2012 Haptic Symposium (2012 HS) was held at Vancouver, Canada, from March 4 to March 7. The symposium was successfully held at Sheraton hotel in downtown Vancouver. The symposium was very interesting that many researchers participated in with their innovative ideas and put their efforts.
Our HVR lab participated in 2012 HS in various ways. First professor Choi participated in the HS 2012 as a committee member. Also total five work from our lab were introduced during the symposium
The paper of Sunghwan Shin et. al., about refrigelator virtual prototyping, Haptic Simulation of Refrigerator Door was presented at 2012 Haptic Symposium. Their paper was a candidate as best student paper. Sunghoon Yim and Seungmoon Choi’ introduced Shape Modeling of Soft Real Objects Using Force-Feedback Haptic Interface. Jaebong Lee and Seungmoon Choi introduced Evaluation of Vibrotactile Pattern Design Using Vibrotactile Score.
Also In Lee’s Guidance Methods for Bimanual Timing Tasks was presented at poster session while Myongchan Kim et. al., ‘s Smart Haptic Chair: Automatic Haptic Feedback Authoring System Based on Visual Saliency and the Yim et. al.,’s demo were shown.
In addition, the laboratory’s formal member Seokhee Jeon’s work was introduced as well. (Extending Haptic Augmented Reality: Modulating Stiffness during Two-Point Squeezing)
